It is an Australian palm, fast-growing and very resilient.
It has a solitary, smooth, grayish trunk, which can reach between 10-15m in height.
Regarding thermal resistance, its range is between -7ºC and 35ºC, as long as frosts are not persistent.
It requires regular watering, avoiding waterlogging.
Its flowering occurs through branched inflorescences that can be up to 1m in length, in late spring or early summer.
In autumn, the year after flowering, the fruits mature and are edible.
