Melia Azedarach

It is a tree native to Asia, deciduous, medium-sized, and can reach 18m.

Temperature range from -10ºC to 38ºC.

It tolerates drought, does not require abundant watering.

Blooming occurs between May/June, with small, fragrant, lilac flowers in clusters.

Its fruits are toxic to humans and other mammals, turning yellow/brown when ripe.

This tree is related to Azederacta Indica (Neem Tree), from which Neem oil, an ecological insecticide, is extracted, and it shares properties with Melia, so preparations are also made with the seeds for the same purpose.
