Ficus Carica

Its origin is in Southwestern Asia.

Deciduous tree with a maximum height of 7-8m, with an open and leafy crown.

Extreme temperature range -10ºC to 42ºC.

Moderate but continuous watering, although it is drought-resistant, during fruiting periods, the lack of water affects the harvest.

The flowering takes place in spring and is very particular, as it occurs within a structure called "syconium", where the flowers of both sexes are located and where fructification takes place.

The fruit "fig" is also special because it is actually an infructescence, harvested in August/September, although there are varieties that can produce 2 harvests a year. The first harvest takes place in spring, producing larger fruits called "brevas".
