Chorisia Speciosa

Native to South America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Paraguay)

It is a deciduous tree, large in size, reaching between 10-20m in height, with rapid growth. It has a trunk thickened at the base and conical spines distributed across its surface.

Its temperature range spans from -8ºC to 35ºC.

It requires moderate watering during the growing season and reduced watering in winter.

It blooms between July and November with striking, pink flowers with a cream to yellowish center, reminiscent of the Lillium flower.

The fruit is produced between December and March and is a capsule that opens when mature, releasing abundant white cotton that contains the seeds.
