Originating from Asia (China, Burma, Assam Region), it is an evergreen tree reaching up to 3-6 m in height with thorny branches.

Its temperature range is from -5ºC to 35ºC. It does not tolerate persistent frost.

Regular watering, without waterlogging.

Fragrant flowering (orange blossom), which can occur all year round in some varieties.

The harvest takes place between 5 and 6 months after flowering.
