Native to Southeast Asia and the Philippines, it is an evergreen tree ranging from 2-6 m, with a rounded crown.
It can withstand temperatures down to -10ºC as long as they are sporadic frosts and exceed 35ºC,
Watering should be moderate and regular, especially in spring and summer, as they are sensitive to waterlogging.
Flowering occurs between April and August depending on the varieties, with fragrant flowers, although milder than those of the lemon or orange tree.
The fruits are harvested between September and February.
